Everette Jewell (E.J.) Newton, 70 years old of Lebanon, IN, died Thursday, March 10, 2011 at Homewood Healthcare. He was born April 17, 1940 in Lebanon, IN, son of the late Kedrick and Mary Florence Denney Newton. He graduated from Granville Wells in 1958. E.J. married Verna LeGalley on August 7, 1959. She survives. He worked for Stewart Warner. He also worked for Allisons and Rolls Royce, retiring in March, 1997 after more than 35 years of service. He was a lifetime member of the Harley Owner’s Group (HOG). Surviving are sons, Mark (Rita) Newton, and Darrin Newton, sister, Linda Doughty, and granddaughter, Katelyn (David) Mathis. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Carolyn Demaree. Friends will be received Saturday, March 12, 4:00-8:00 p.m. at the Porter Funeral Home, Jamestown, Indiana. Services will be held at Porter Funeral Home, Sunday, March 13, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. with Greg King officiating. Interment will be on Monday, March 14 at the Oak Hill Cemetery, Lebanon, IN 46052.
