Elaine E. Hawkins

Elaine E. Hawkins, 78, of Anderson, passed away on November 7, 2023. Elaine was born on February 1, 1945 in Anderson to the late Eugene and Marie (Richard) Farrer. After receiving an associate degree from Business College, Elaine began working as an executive secretary. She eventually found herself working for Firefly as a Customer Relations Specialist.  Elaine found her spiritual home at St. Mary Catholic Church and was a faithful member for many years. One of her proudest accomplishments was attending AA meetings and staying sober for 34 years. Elaine loved gardening and getting together with her high school friends every Monday to play cards. Most importantly, Elaine adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and especially enjoyed spending holidays with them.

Elaine will be dearly missed by her sons, Robert Hawkins, Troy Hawkins, and Bret Hawkins; grandchildren, Scott (Brittany) Hawkins, Anthony (Kelsey) Hawkins, Heather (Bryan) Cook, Dustin Hawkins, and Austin Hawkins; great-grandchildren, Stanley Branscum, Clay Hawkins, Carson Hawkins, and Ty Cook; daughter-in-law, Robin Blake; brother, Dick (Peg) Farrer; sisters, Darlene Sargent and Pam (Dan) Wickens; numerous nieces and nephews; and her dog, Mitzi.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Tommy Joe Farrer.

The visitation will be from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM on Tuesday, November 14, 2023 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 1115 Pearl St, Anderson, IN 46016. The funeral mass will begin at 11:00 AM at the church. Burial will take place in Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery. Any memorial contributions in Elaine’s name may be gifted to the Madison County Humane Society or St. Vincent de Paul.
