Eva R. Duarte

Eva R. Duarte, aged 89, peacefully gained her angel wings at her home on Monday, April 8, 2024. She was born on December 6, 1934, in Brownsville, Pennsylvania to George and Margaret (Adamson) Robert’s. Being the eldest of ten children, Eva leaves behind a loving family.

Among the survivors are her grandchildren, Brianna Taylor and Michael Duarte, as well as honorary grandchildren Roxanne Hasseld and Jimmie Owen’s. Eva also had great-grandchildren, including Madalynn Hasseld, Logan (Shelby) Hasseld, Malachi Hasseld, Katelyn Plake and great-great-grandchild named Liam Hasseld. Her sisters, Margret (Jim) Wurster, Marline Ingram, and Maxine (John) Pease, were also part of her cherished family. Additionally, Eva had a beloved nephew named Lee Ballard, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

Eva was preceded in death by her siblings Mary (Karl) Kaiser, Linda Roberts, Silvery Roberts, Alex Roberts, Randy Roberts, and George Roberts Jr. She also lost good friends named Billie, Delma, and Barbara.

Eva dedicated 25 years of her life working for Western Electric before retiring. After her retirement, she became a school teacher, working with preschool and elementary children until her full retirement in 2008.

As a devoted Christian woman, Eva had a strong relationship with the Lord. She was a member of The Stop 11 Church of Christ and looked forward to gathering with her church family each week to praise the Lord. Eva also had a long-standing weekly hair appointment with her beloved friend Jean, spanning over two decades.

Eva took great pride in being a dedicated homeowner, always ensuring her home and lawn were in pristine condition. She had a kind heart and loved helping others whenever she could. It is an understatement to say that Grandma Eva will be missed in this world. In her 89 years on earth, she left a lasting impact that no other woman could. However, those who knew her understand that she was eagerly anticipating her homecoming with the Lord, and in that, we find peace.

Visitation will be held from 1:00 P.M. – 3:00 P.M. on Wednesday, April 17, 2024, at the Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Service & Crematory-Franklin Township Chapel, 5950 East Thompson Road Indianapolis, Indiana 46237. Following the visitation, a funeral service will take place at 3:30 P.M. at the Stop 11 Church of Christ, 6920 East Stop 11 Rd, Indianapolis, IN 46237, with a dinner to follow the services.
