On Friday, December 10, 2021, loving wife, mother and mamaw, Evelyn “Irene” Dulworth (77) passed into the arms of Jesus at Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie. Irene was born on July 15, 1944 in Barberton, Ohio to Bedford and Ruby (Nelson) Denton. Irene and her parents moved to Tennessee in 1946 where she spent her childhood and teenage years. In 1961, Irene married JB Dulworth and they moved to Indiana the following year. JB and Irene have lived in Middletown (Honey Creek) Indiana since 1966 where they raised 3 sons, Joe (Mendy) Garrett, Mark (Janeen) Dulworth and Marty (Jessica) Dulworth. Irene had 40 plus years of service working at St. John’s Anderson Center before she retired in 2014. Irene and JB have been long time, faithful members of Honey Creek United Methodist Church. Irene was known by both her family and friends for her wonderful southern cooking; it was important to her to make sure people were fed and cared for. Irene would regularly watch and spend time with her grandchildren and would drop everything to help out others, especially her family. Irene was a hard worker and even in retirement would stay busy. Her and JB loved playing cards with her sister-in-law, nieces, and her grandchildren. Irene and JB took regular vacations each year back to Tennessee to visit family and to relax and enjoy themselves. Irene is preceded in death by her parents, Bedford and Ruby Denton and her sister Bobbie Sweet. Irene is survived by her husband, JB, her three sons, 16 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild due in July, and several nieces and nephews. Services will be held at Brown, Butz & Diedring funeral home on Tuesday December 14, 2021 at 1:30pm with a Visitation from 10:00am to 1:30pm. Burial will follow at Miller’s Cemetery in Middletown. Memorial contributions may be made in Irene’s honor to Honey Creek United Methodist Church, 5278 W 700 N, Middletown, IN 47356.

Oh Irene you will be so missies by so many. We have been through so much together in the last 26 years in this family. You were more than my mother in law you were alway my friend. We didn't always see eye to eye on things but were ALWAYS there for each other when needed. You taught me so much, but if you ask my kids they would tell you I need more lessons in cooking. I will never be the cook that you were. You did teach me that garage sales were a lot more fun to shop at than Macys! You taught me that you can't please everyone so stop trying.
