Obituary for Steve RoweGary Steven “Steve” Rowe, age 50, of Zionsville, Indiana died July 20, 2015 at his home. Steve was born on April 28, 1965 in Indianapolis to Robert and Anetta (Hepler) Rowe. Steve was raised in Zionsville and during high school was very active in DeMolay International and the Zionsville High School Brass Eagles. He graduated from Zionsville High School with the class of 1983 and from Indiana University with a degree in Criminal Justice. Steve had worked as a Major Account Manager for Verizon Wireless for the past 16 years. He was a Reserve Deputy with the Marion County Sheriff’s Office from 1992- 2007. He was classified as a Sharp Shooter by the Marion County Sheriff’s Office and participated in the Marion County Sheriff’s Motorcycle Squad.Steve had many interests, but his first love was for his horses. He was a big John Wayne fan and known for his culinary skills. He enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle, flying model airplanes, collecting guns, and target shooting. Steve is survived by his parents, Bob and Ann Rowe of Zionsville; 3 brothers, Rob (Marcia) of Zionsville, Mike (Kathy), and Jeff (Cindy) all of Westfield; 4 nephews, Jason, Jeremy, Kyle, and Jordan; several aunts and uncles who will miss him greatly; and 4 very special children, Alan, Abby, Ava, and Allison, although they weren’t related, always called him grandpa.Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, July 25, at New Hope Christian Church, 5780 South Main St. Whitestown, IN with Pastor Bill Chaulk officiating. Visitation will be from 5-8:00 p.m. Friday, July 24 at the church and from 9:30 -10:00 Saturday.
