George W. Doyle

George W. Doyle, 78, passed into eternal life on December 3, 2021. Born to Fred and Rose Ann Doyle in Loogootee, Indiana, he spent his youth working on the family farm. He later went on to proudly serve our country as a radio operator in the United States Marine Corp during the Vietnam War. After earning a degree in Electrical Engineering from Purdue University, he spent most of his career working in the communications industry. A charismatic man, George’s presence rarely went unnoticed, nor was a meeting with him soon forgotten. His quick wit and jokes brought many a laugh, including his own which could fill a room. He enjoyed dancing and singing karaoke. May his voice soon join those who sing without ceasing the praises of God in heaven.He is preceded in death by his devoted first wife, Catherine; his parents Fred and Rose Ann; and his siblings Maryanne and Fred. He is survived by his loving wife Gloria, his 4 children: Ann Marie, George, Christina, and Alex and his 11 grandchildren: Jacob, David, Isaac, Maria, Genevieve, Joseph, Sara, Catherine, Lexie, Declan, and Ruane.There will be a calling Thursday, December 16, 2021, from 4pm until 8pm at Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Service and Crematory, 481 W. Main St. Greenwood, Indiana 46142 with a Rosary Service at 7:30pm.The Rosary service was streamed on Facebook.The funeral Mass will be Friday, December 17, 2021, at 10 am at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 245 W. Broadway St. Greenwood, Indiana 46142.In lieu of flowers, please have masses offered for the repose of his soul.Eternal rest grant unto him O Lord and let perpetual light shine upon him. May his soul and all the souls of the faithful departed through the mercy of God rest in peace. Amen.
