Ira \”Jack\” Johnson, age 79, of Indianapolis, passed away on Sunday, December 20, 2020. He was born in Indianapolis on January 26, 1941 to Oliver and Alice Johnson, both of whom precede him in death.� He attended Harry E. Wood High School in Indianapolis, and served his country in the US Army Reserve. Jack was a fan of the Indianapolis Colts, as well as the Pacers and IU, who liked to spend his time shooting dice and playing cards.He is survived by his children: Chester (Tancey) Johnson of Indianapolis, Patricia White of Indianapolis, and Beth Ann (Billy) Hargrave of Indianapolis; sister: Maudeleen Oliver of Indianapolis; brothers: Theodore \”Pat\” (Sheila) Johnson, and Daniel \”Bo\” Johnson, both of Indianapolis; nine grandchildren; and sixteen great-grandchildren.Jack is also preceded in death by his wife: Genevieve M. Johnson; and his sisters: Helen Mae Smith, and Dolores Ann Shaffer; and brother: Leroy Johnson.An inurment will take place at Floral Park Cemetery at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to Simplicity Funeral & Cremation Care, Indianapolis Chapel.
