I have played tennis with Jack for about as long as I can remember, including the last 15 years at Healthplex on Saturday mornings and at other times. He was a true gentleman, always positive, rarely complaining, and playing through some medical issues in recent years. I always looked forward to playing tennis with and against him and our social conversations between sets.

Dear Marcia and family,
I just learned of Jack's passing and am so sorry to hear this news. I do not know you and your family, but I sure do remember Jack. We grew up in the same class at Greenwood from elementary school in the very old school building which occasionally dropped ceiling cement on us in class, to high school graduation. I remember all the games we played together when we were just tikes at recess. He always made us laugh whenever anything silly happened, which was frequently out in the school back yard. In fact, I think we called him "Jackie" most of the time, even into high school. I noticed that my old buddies who stayed around Greenwood called him Jack. It is hard to wrap your arms around news like this when it is someone you grew up with. My heart goes out to you. I hope the many, many memories your family have about Jack will bring some peace to all of you. He was such a very good friend to all of us who were in his class. My sorrowful blessings to you and your family. Ann (Buchanan) Miser

Dear Marcia, we are shocked and saddened to hear of Jack's passing. It's hard to put into words what one feels after a lifetime of association when a friend ( and classmate) passes. Not only our Greenwood memories but work at Lilly together make for long and rich memories. It just seems like yesterday we saw you and Jack at Lincoln Square (post retirement for us all). Marcia, our thoughts and prayers are with you in this difficult time. Gordon Pitman and Jody Lasiter, Greenwood

Dear Marcia, I'm so sorry to hear about Jack! What a wonderful man and good friend to me. Many wonderful times together at GHS, playing ball and just being friends! I know Jack is with his brother Ron, mom, dad, and sister in God's paradise! So sorry to lose both Jack and Ron so close to each other. My thoughts and prayers are with you and the family. May our gracious God wrap you and the family in HIS arms and give you comfort and peace knowing you will see Jack again!
Peace of mind is a call away. We're here when you need us most.
