James Milton Secrest

James Milton Secrest, 80, of New Castle, IN, formerly of Indianapolis, IN died Saturday morning, January 9, 2016. Mr. Secrest was born August 7, 1935 in Indianapolis to Milton Brooks and Irma Jean McHugh Secrest; they preceded him in death.James was a graduate of Broad Ripple High School, Butler University, and the Indiana University School of Law. He was a practicing attorney during his professional life, most recently in his own law practice, James M. Secrest, P.C.Mr. Secrest is survived by his wife, Sharon Ward Secrest; his children, Lisa Tobin (Mark), Kim Grady (Mike), Angela Dawn Host (Jim), Stephanie Secrest, J. Brooks Secrest (Lyn). Also surviving are his grandchildren, Chris, Mark, Sarah, Christina, Drake, Marshall, Laurel, Tiare, Talon; and 9 great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sons, Michael Secrest and Nathan Secrest; his sister, Nancy Secrest; and his grandchildren, Nicholas, Beth, Clifford, Mallory, Spencer, Schuyler, and Sawyer.A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Fr. Dennis J. O’Keeffe at 1 pm, Wednesday, January 13, 2016. There will be public visitation from 11:30 until the beginning of Mass. Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery in Indianapolis.
