James R. Boone

ANDERSON – James “Jim” Rex Boone, 72, passed away peacefully with his wife by his side as he was called home to his Heavenly Father on the morning of Thursday April 6th, 2023.

Jim was born on November 19, 1950 in Anderson, Indiana to Eddie and Edith Boone. Jim Graduated from Anderson High School in 1969. He enjoyed spending his high school years as the Anderson High School Indian Mascot in 1968 and 1969, spreading joy and excitement to those around him.

Jim dedicated his working years as a Millwright for Delco Remy and retired in 2004 after 30 plus years. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Lapel, IN. He was also a member of Mount Moriah Lodge #77.

Jim enjoyed spending his time with his closest friends and family. He was an avid lover of NASCAR, enjoying his vacation home at Lake Dale Hollow, and golf. He spent 30 years vacationing with his wife, family, and close friends at Pawleys Island in South Carolina. He was most proud of his children and grandchildren and their accomplishments. Jim loved them dearly.

Jim is survived by his wife of 33 years, Ronna Wisner Boone; Parents, Eddie (Edith) Boone; Children, Jeff (Lynnette) Boone, Adrienne (Keith) Wildman; Sisters, Sue (Jerry) Elijah, Claire Boone Barber; Grandchildren, Whitney (Gerrit) Hallock,  Mackenzie (Caleb) Cleek, Kelsey Wildman, Gunner Boone, Jack Wildman.

Jim is preceded in death by his niece, Nicole Elijah Brown.

Jim will especially be remembered for his love of socialization with his close friends who referred to him as “Boonie”, his flannel shirts, sense of humor, and participation in playing the tambourine with his friendship band.

Visitation will be held Tuesday April 11th from 10:00-12:00 Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Home, 515 East 53rd Street in Anderson. Following the visitation will be a celebration of life at 12:00. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to East Lynn Christian Church Food Pantry.
