John Joseph “Joe” Schulte, 91, passed away January 3, 2023 with his family at his side.

He was born March 19, 1931, in St. Louis, Missouri to the late, Stephen & Odelia (Parr) Schulte. Joe was a veteran of the US Navy having served in the Korean War. He retired from Delco-Remy as an engineer, having traveled internationally to assist building new plants. Joe was a very active member of St. Mary Catholic Church.

He is survived by his children, Mark & Julie Schulte and Patricia & Tim Layton; grandchildren, Amanda (Phil), Rebecca, Megan, Brent, & Corey; great grandchildren, Adrian & Zoey; and sister, Lee Bolzenius. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Wilma (Hans) Schulte; and several siblings.

A Memorial Mass will be at 10:30 a.m., Monday, January 16, 2023 at St. Mary Catholic Church. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until time of services at the church.

Arrangements were entrusted to Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Service & Crematory.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Joe’s name to St. Vincent de Paul Society.

Joe has been a friend for years through Delco-Remy working with George and through our church family. He was such a a kind, generous man of many interests. I'll miss him, his smile and his efforts to cheer his friends by sending jokes or interesting tidbits via email. Sad for family and friends because he'll be missed but happy that he's journeyed on to eternity.
