June Beatrice (Babb, Hefleng) Farina, 100, of Indianapolis was born October 3, 1915 to Carl R. and Leafa (Kern) Babb in Oolitic, IN. June went home to her Lord and Savior on October 20, 2015. She married Donald Hefleng in 1937; their son, Michael (wife Mary) survives, along with two grandsons, Michael David and Steven Robert; and a great-granddaughter, Keira Hefleng as well as step-grandchildren, Shannon (Sean) Dick, Todd (Cindy) Hosea, Ryan Hosea; and step-great-grandchildren, Dean and Rebecca Dick, Sara and Daniel Hosea. She was later married to Charles Dailey and Vincent Farina who both preceded her in death. Vinny’s daughter, Rosemary Ekvall (husband, David; children, Jenna and Michael) of Cedarburg, WI and former daughter-in-law, Patti (Steve) Knoy also survive.Graduating from the Martinello Beauty School in Chicago in 1935, she was a beautician at L.S. Ayres, a representative of the Rayette Company and then had her own shop. It was a lifelong career, as she was still giving haircuts and perms well into her 80’s.June’s passion was crocheting. While living in Ormond Beach, Florida, she made over 1,000 afghans for area nursing homes and hospitals. After returning to Indianapolis in 2004, she made over 500 more for Community Hospital South. She also hand-made beautiful quilts which her family treasures.
