Karen Rose Strong Feldhaus, 57 years old of Jamestown, IN, died Saturday, May 2, 2009 in Parkwood Healthcare. She was born December 14, 1951 in Lebanon, Indiana the daughter of Donald Strong and Beverly Souder Strong. She was a graduate of Thorntown High School in 1970 and the Metropolitian Beauty Academy in 1970. She was the Queen Mother in the Red Hat Society and was active in the Camp Fire Girls when her nieces were members. She loved traveling, decorating, flower arranging, bowling, gardening and helping others. Her special interest was her granddaughter Mariah Rose Burch and her very large circle of friends. She owned and operated Karen’s Kut ‘n’ Kurl in Jamestown and also worked at the Corner Cupboard and the Jamestown IGA and the Farmers State Bank in New Ross. Surviving are son, James F. Burch II of Jamestown, a granddaughter Mariah Rose Burch of Greenfield. Also surviving is James’ girlfriend Kimberly Dagenhart and her daughter Andi. Her mother, Beverly Strong, a brother, Donnie (wife Karen Sue) Strong and sisters, Becky Harder and Yvonne (Tom) McCall all of Thorntown Also surviving are several nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Donald Strong and a niece Janice Johnson and a nephew Nick Pugh. Friends will be received on Tuesday May 5, from 4:00pm until 8:00pm. at the Porter Funeral Home, Jamestown, Indiana. Services will be held on Wednesday May 6, at 2:00pm in the funeral home.
