Katherine LaVaughn “Scobee” Beam, 87 passed away at home August 5, 2007 surrounded by her family. She was born March 15, 1920 in Greencastle, IN, daughter of the late Earl and Alta Scobee. She married Ralph Beam of New Maysville on September 20, 1941 at First Christian Church in Greencastle, IN. Surviving are her husband, Ralph Beam and three sons, Walter (Janet) Beam of Jamestown, Donald Beam of Ladoga, Richard (Ginger) Beam of Jamestown, and 5 Grandchildren, 4 Great-grandchildren , a Niece, and a Nephew. She was preceded in death by brother, Robert Scobee, and sister, Marguerite Scobee Neff. Friends will be received Tuesday, August 7, 2007 2:00-8:00 p.m. at the Porter Funeral Home, Jamestown, Indiana. Services will be held at Porter Funeral Home Wednesday, August 8, 10:00 a.m., with Reverend Brent Wright officiating. Interment will follow in the Jamestown I.O.O.F Cemetery.
