Kendall Scout Wood, 28, unexpectedly passed away Thursday November 16, 2023 in Norwalk, Conneticut while visiting loved ones.
She is survived by:
Her adoring parents Kenneth L. Wood and Kay Ann (Winniski) Wood. They were ever-supportive, her #1 fans, and her best friends.
Her eldest sister, Lenny Wood Floyd (Jeremiah Floyd), who inspired Kendall to be her authentic self.
Her sister closest in age, Katie Wood Barrett (Matthew Barrett), who was largely a maternal figure through out her life.
Her grandmother, Judy Winniski, who is the 97 year-old matriarch of the family.
Her nieces and nephews, that believe Kendall hung the moon:
Eldest niece McKayla Barrett.
Laine Brady Wood, Kendall’s best friend and a brother to her. Her true love, Korey Kenneth Taylor, Titi’s cuddle buddy and champion. Kendall’s youngest princess, Kate Nickole Barrett, who Titi described as “a total mood.” Her mini-bestie Mariah Floyd. As well as Kendall’s twin nieces: her soulmate Rose Victoria Floyd, and Violet Grace Floyd, her “Spirit Animal.”
Loving and supporting aunts and uncles, dozens of cousins, and friends across the world.
Kendall grew up in Greenwood, Indiana attending Center Grove. She loved being a cheerleader, dance student, and gymnast. She is a Roncalli High School alumna. Kendall founded the Rebels for Acceptance club at Roncalli High School, where she excelled and flourished. She then moved to Southbend, Indiana to attend Saint Mary at Notre Dame University, which continued to mold her kind soul. She studied abroad at Notre Dame, Australia. Her favorite place she traveled was her vacation in Indonesia. Kendall graduated in 2018 with dual degrees in Communications and Psychology.
Kendall went on to work in Mental Healthcare, in both Connecticut and Indiana, which was her field of passion. Kendall’s giving heart and love for beauty had her collecting donations for women and children’s homeless shelters and mental health facilities. Her mission was to be sure they felt important, beautiful, loved, and cared for.
She loved to travel and most recently went to Bermuda in July 2023, where she fell in love with the pink sand.
Visitation will be held Sunday, November 26th from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Service & Crematory Greenwood Chapel 481 W. Main Street Greenwood, IN. Funeral service will be 11:00 am Monday, November 27th at the funeral home. Please wear something pink, her favorite color, to celebrate Kendall’s life.
