Kenneth Gordon Kinman, 87, of Franklin, passed away July 14, 2015 with his family at his side. He was born June 21, 1928 in New Albany to the late John and Mildred (Espin) Kinman. He married Wanda (Bailey) Kinman June 19, 1954 whom he traveled the world with, before she preceded him in death in June 2012. He retired as a sales and marketing manager in May 1988 from Indiana Gas.
Kenneth was an active member in many organizations, some of which are the Indiana Free Masons of Franklin, Scottish Rite, and the Murat Temple Shriners. Additionally, he was a member of Murat Railroad Club, Kentucky Colonels, Royal Order of Jesters, High Twelve Club No. 545, Order of Eastern Star #390, Bartholomew and Johnson County Shrine Clubs, Hoosier Hillbilly Club, American Legion Post 0264, and many others. He was also very involved in the Shriners Children’s Hospital. Kenneth was a Sergeant in the United States Marine Corp and served in WWII. He loved his grandchildren and had great passion for helping other children.
Survivors include son Kenneth G. Kinman II; daughter Angela F. (Roger) McKinney; grandsons Dyllin and Andrew Kinman. He was also preceded in death by sister Norma and grandchildren Julie Marie and Matthew Ryan McKinney.
Visitation will be 12:00 – 2:00 P.M., Friday, July 17 at Indiana Masonic Home, Kresge Chapel, 690 State St., Franklin 46131. There will be a service following the visitation at 2:00 P.M with Masonic service and military honors. Burial at Greenlawn Cemetery.
