Kory Allen Grein, 21, of Greenwood, passed away April 28, 2016.� He was born July 25, 1994 in Indianapolis.� Kory grew up in Greenwood starting at age 3 until he graduated high school and joined the Army National Guard. He attended kindergarten at Southwest Elementary School.� He then attended Northeast Elementary School from 1st – 5th and Greenwood Middle School 6th – 8th. He attended Greenwood High School 9th – 12th and graduated in 2013.� He started wrestling in the 6th grade which quickly became his passion. He continued wrestling through his junior year when unfortunately three concussions prevented him from continuing to wrestle his senior year. He also ran track during his junior and senior year.Kory attended C-9 for law enforcement his junior and senior year and was a senior member of Englewood DeMolay.� He worked for Gander Mountain and Amazon before joining the Army National Guard in November 2013.� He graduated from basic training in May 2014 as an Infantryman.� He then transferred to the North Carolina National Guard, 11th Bravo as an Infantryman in August 2014 through August 2015 while he was a volunteer with Crains Creek Fire Department.� He then returned to the Indiana National Guard, A Company 2-152 Infantry Regiment. He was all about being a soldier and serving his country from an early age.Kory loved the outdoors and going camping at Hidden Paradise in St. Paul, Indiana.� He also loved boating at Lake Monroe, fishing, mudding, and bonfires.� He enjoyed being goofy with friends, country music, especially Luke Bryan and being a rebel.Many other things he loved in life include: Minions,�Fireball whiskey,�Jack and Coke,�Reds apple ale (specifically blueberry and cranberry),�Cherry Vanilla Coke,�The Country Boy Song by Earl Dibbles Jr.,�You Should Be Here by Cole Swindell, Lays Biscuit and Gravy chips,�Chicken Ramen Noodles,�White Castle, Mexican food (El Camino in Noblesville), any kind of jalape�o flavored food, Grizzly dark wintergreen pouches,�Marlboro black menthol shorts,�Sweet tea,�movies The Green Mile, �American Sniper,�Major Payne, t.v. shows�Two and a half men and�Archer, phone game Tiny Tower, �watching thunderstorms, getting lost on country roads, cooking deer burgers (one of the only things he knew how to cook and they always tasted really good, he was so proud of how good they were). �He loved making people laugh and being a big goofball.Survivors include mother Joanna (Grein) Colson; stepfather Brian Colson, Sr.; half-brother Zachary Colson; half-sister Marissa Colson; step brother Brian Colson, Jr.; step sister Brittany Colson; nephew Lincoln Torres; grandfather John Grein; uncle Andrew “A.J.” Grein; cousin Jasper Grein; girlfriend Brooke Browning and several extended family members.� He was preceded in death by Grandmother Glenda Grein in 2004.Visitation will be 3:00 P.M. – 8:00 P.M., Thursday, May 5th at Simplicity Funeral & Cremation Care, 7520 Madison Avenue.
