Margaret Helen (Peggy) Wissel Newell, 98, died peacefully on December 16 in Greenwood, Indiana. She was born in Greencastle, Indiana on October 23, 1922 to Harry and Iona Grace Wissel. Throughout her life, Peggy was known for her gentle uplifting spirit, her kindness and willingness to give and share in any way she could. An accomplished violinist and pianist, she taught piano in Indianapolis for many years. She worked for Tislow Hunter & Associates, Woodstock Country Club and Beef & Boards Dinner Theater, as well as being an honored volunteer at St. Vincent Hospital with over 2500 hours of service.Peggy was loved by many and a stranger to no one. Those who were touched by her kindness and joyful spirit will miss her dearly. She is survived by her daughter Mary Ann (Ron) Tellmann of Greenwood; sons Robert Newell of Carmel and James (Linda) Newell of Carmel; six grandchildren – Brian (Amanda) Tellmann; Christine (Adam) Velazquez; Sara (Aaron) Weaver; Taylor (Olivia) Newell; Veronica Newell and Daniel Newell; and six great-grandchildren – Emmy and Holly Tellmann, Ben and Owen Weaver, Mara Velazquez and Asher Newell. Also surviving are her niece Terri (George) Hage and nephews Kurt (Candy) Ottenbacher, Thomas (Sara) Ottenbacher and Eric (Denise) Ottenbacher. She was predeceased by her husband, Thomas Newell and sister, Mary Ann Ottenbacher.A celebration of Peggy’s life will be held at a later date when her favorite flower, pansies, are in bloom!
