Mari Kay Darche 85, of Wanamaker, passed away December 27, 2021. She was born December 21, 1936 to the late Montelle and Rhea Heminger in Paris, Il. Mari Kay was a dedicated member of Nativity Catholic Church. She was a devoted Mom and homemaker, a jack of all trades, there truly was nothing she could not do. She took pride in making her house a home and being able to stay home and raise her three children. She will be dearly missed and remembered for her infectious laugh, love of fun and her zest for life. She always had a smile on her face and a joke on her lips. She especially loved her role as Granny. She enjoyed the many late night sleepovers with her grandchildren including card games, popcorn and of course there was always room for dessert.Mari Kay leaves behind her children; son, Scott (Phyllis) Darche of Acworth, GA, daughters, Stephanie (Billy) Smith of Fairland, Susan (Rick) Stephens of Greenwood; grandchildren, Nichole Darche, Meghan (Heath) King, Amanda (Garrett) Pritt, Austin Smith, Eddie (Marlo), Kaylee and Evan McCracken; and 5 great grandchildren. Mari Kay was preceded in death by her loving husband Albert G. Darche of 57 years; her parents Montelle and Rhea Heminger; her son Steven; her brother Lawrence Heminger and Victoria Boerner.Funeral services for Mari Kay are Monday, January 3rd at 12:00 PM with visitation from 11:00 AM until time of service at Nativity Catholic Church, 7225 Southeastern Ave. Indpls., IN. 46239. Burial will follow the service at Orchard Hill Cemetery, Wanamaker, Indiana. Arrangements entrusted to Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Service and Crematory-Franklin Township Chapel.The funeral service will be livestreamed and available to view at nativityindy.org click on livestream.
