Mary “Elizabeth” Thomas, 86 years old of Sheridan, IN, died Saturday, February 10, 2007 in Sheridan Healthcare Center. She was born October 2, 1920 in Royalton, Indiana, daughter of the late Edwin Lamar and Maude Cooper Lamar. She married Clyde C. Thomas on February 21, 1946. He preceded her in death. She was a member of New Ross Methodist Church where she played the piano, Pollyanna’s United Methodist Women, lifetime member of the VFW Ladies Auxilary, American Legion, The Eagles and a volunteer for the Special Olympics for a number of years. She worked as a bookeeper for New Ross Lumber Company and a cafeteria worker for Crawfordsville schools. Surviving are daughter, Shirley (Thomas) Aycox, son, Clyde (Tommy) C. Thomas Jr. of Westfield, sisters-in-law Carolyn Lamar and Maxine Lamar both of Brownsburg, 4 Grandchildren and 5 Great-grandchildren, . She was preceded in death by brothers, Leo Lamar, Charles Lamar, Clifford Lamar and Richard Lamar, sisters, Edith (Lamar) Brown and Alice (Lamar) Bannister. Friends will be received Thursday, February 15 4:00 P.M.-8:00 P.M. at the at the Porter Funeral Home, Jamestown, Indiana. Services will be held at Porter Funeral Home, Friday, February 16, 2007 at 10.00 A.M. with Rodger Ward officiating.
