Mary ”Kitten” Thompson, 82, of Pendleton, passed away on March 31, 2024 surrounded by her family. She was born on May 11, 1941, in New Castle, Indiana to the late Robert and Margaret (Harwood) Cochrel. Mary was such a wonderful woman during her life. She would take care of anybody and everybody if they ever needed help. Mary had hobbies that she enjoyed doing and that included doing puzzles, painting, crocheting, knitting, and she would also work on her garden with her late husband James Thompson. They had any type of vegetable that you could think of, and after they harvested the vegetables, they would can them. Mary was also an amazing seamstress with furniture, clothes, drapes, etc., it was a real passion of hers. She was also just a special mother, grandmother, great-grandmother that would always help her family to make sure they were taken care of.
Mary will be dearly missed by her daughters, Stephanie Jones, Gina (John) Prichard, and Kathy Davis; sons, Keith Thompson and Kevyn Thompson; sisters, Peggy Willoughby; grandchildren, Jason Jones, Amanda Jones, Stephanie Howells, Justin Williams, Robert Williams, Terra (Brian) Warren, Cassie Thompson, Theresa Thompson, James Thompson, Kalob Thompson, and Kyle Smith; several great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, James Thompson; parents, Robert and Margaret Cochrel; mother-in-law, Lucy Butler; brother, Gene Cochrel; son-in-laws, Randall Jones and Michael Davis; and 1 niece and 2 nephews.
Family and friends may gather from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM on April 9, 2024, at Condo & St. Pierre Funeral Home, 130 S. Main St., Wilkinson, IN, 46186. Funeral ceremony will begin at 1:00 PM at the funeral home. Burial will be at McCray Cemetery in Wilkinson. Services have been entrusted to Condo & St. Pierre Funeral Home.
