Mom....it's been one year since you left us, but your image and memories will never fade. I think of you every day and hope that you and Dad have reconnected for eternal happiness. You will forever be in my heart. P.S. Give Dad a hug and kiss for me.

A Final Goodbye from your Daughter....Because I cannot be there in person to say my goodbyes, I am writing this note that you can hold onto forever. So many memories have been flooding my mind, but some of the best are the early days spent with you on the farm.I know it was hard for you to teach me your home making skills because of my being such a "tomboy"...but blame that on my three brothers! In the summers, I distinctly remember helping tend our vegetable garden, hoeing, planting, watering, weeding and snapping those beans to be canned for cold winter days.In the fall, we raked.....and raked leaves only to have more fall the next day. We picked up hickory nuts by the bushels to be sold at market....and used for your delicious baked goods. You were clearly cut out to be a mother and home-maker, and you made holidays so special for us. One year for Christmas, I wanted a stuffed black lamb....you couldn't find one in the store, so you ordered a kit and sewed and stuffed it yourself. When I wasn't caring for our many farm animals, you gave me indoor chores like dishes, vacuuming and learning to iron....things like Dad's hankies and underwear!Once I started driving, you always reminded me... "wear clean underwear in case you get in an accident". You were there to guide me when I had my own daughter...always ready to lend your helping hand. In fact, compassion was one of your finest qualities...always willing to help others in need.Mothers hold their children's hands for a while, but their hearts forever. May that love surround you now and bring you peace. I never truly learned what the words "I miss you" were until I reached for your hand and it wasn't there. In life, we all loved you dearly....in death we love you still.
