Melvin O. Williams, 74, of Indianapolis, passed away January 19, 2015. He was born January 27, 1940 to the late Orion and Gladys (Gross) Williams. He married Carol (Griffith) Williams July 27, 1957 and she preceded him in death February 21, 2014. Survivors include daughters Diana (David) Dyer of Indianapolis, Rhonda (Donald) Payne of Indianapolis; adopted son Johnny Wells; daughter-in-law Kristi Williams; sister Mildred Tretter; eight grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; and dog Nicky Sue. He was also preceded in death by sons Donald and Robert Williams; eight brothers and sisters; one grandchild; and three great grandchildren.Melvin loved to entertain with karaoke in nursing homes. He was a tool and die maker who worked at Exel Mold, KC Engineering, and Morris Mold. Services will be held 11 AM Friday, January 23, at Simplicity Funeral & Cremation Care, 7520 Madison Ave. Indianapolis, IN 46227. Visitation will be 4 – 8 P.M., Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
