Miriam Alice (Long) Hood, age 80, of Greenwood, IN, peacefully went to be with Jesus on December 26, 2021. She was born to Leonard and Alice Long in Berea, Ohio, September 13, 1941. She is survived by her husband, Ronald P. Hood; daughters Elizabeth Ann (Eric) Nicholson, Ronda Lynn (Aaron)Troyer; daughter-in-law Shelly Vanlandingham Hood; brothers Leonard Long, Daniel Paul (Beverly) Long, Robert Steven (Jondra) Long; sister-in-law Violet Long. She leaves six dearly loved grandchildren: James Thomas Nicholson, Callie Rose Nicholson, Robyn Elizabeth Nicholson, Allison Rosemary Hood, Carson Paul Troyer, and Luke David Troyer.Miriam was preceded in death by her parents, Leonard and Alice Long, by her brothers William Long, and James Long, and by her son Brent Alan Hood.Miriam lived a full and fulfilling life as a certified teacher (K-8), both in the United States, and overseas as a Christian missionary in the West Indies and in Papua New Guinea, and was loved by her many students. She also excelled in office management and executive secretarial roles and was proficient as a graphic artist. Many recall her lovely singing voice. Perhaps she is best remembered by her friends for her sweet disposition, her contagious laughter, and her strong devotion to her Lord. We will not forget you, dear Miriam.
