William Thomas James, 84, passed on Saturday, September 24, 2022, at his residence surrounded by his loving family.

He was born April 18, 1938, in Anderson, to the late, Clifford & Eunice (Cox) James. William was a veteran of the U.S. Army.  He retired from General Motors as a tool & die maker. He was a past member of the local Masonic Lodge. He was devoted to his family and especially his beloved grandchildren.

William is survived by his wife of 66 years, Linda May (Haynes) James; children, Debra Barclay, Paul (wife, Cherie) James, & Joshua James; daughter-in-law, Melanie James; special cousin, Wanda Beason; several grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was preceded by his sons, David James & William T. James, Jr.; sister, Barbara Beal; and great granddaughter, Quinn James.

Services will be at 1:00 pm Wednesday, September 28, 2022 at Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Service & Crematory. Burial will be at Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 11:30 am until the time of services at the funeral home.
