Ms. Celesta R. Walker

Celesta R. Walker, 88 years, a resident of Charlottesville, passed away on October 26, 2023, at Greenfield Healthcare Center. She was born July 23, 1935, to the late Truman and Edna DeLay.

Celesta graduated from Charlottesville High School in 1953. She married her high school sweetheart, Paul Walker, on February 19, 1954, and was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, as well as a great-great grandmother. She worked at EHHS as a teacher’s aide and then enjoyed a 25-year career at Greenfield Banking Company in the Bookkeeping department. She loved her family, attending church gatherings, caring for others, Miller’s Jewelry, and playing Bingo and Bunko with her long-time friends. Celesta was a member of the Wilkinson Church of Christ.

She is survived by her children, Mike (Debbie) Walker, Diane (Bobby) Reeser, Janice (Jeff) Conley; grandchildren, Jason (Tracy) Walker, Dayne (Chelsea) Walker, Tricia (Ryan) Langston, Jordan (Leisha) Conley; great-grandchildren, Bryce, Makenna, Charlie, Alexa, Brooklynn, Benjamin; great-great grandchildren, Kensley and Kyleigha; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul; brother, James DeLay; and sister, Marilyn Barton.

At her request, no services will be held. Celesta will be placed with Paul at a private family service. Services have been entrusted to Condo & St. Pierre Funeral Service & Crematory.
