Cammie Slaven left a message on January 4, 2023:
Just saw Jean's obituary today while looking for someone else. Both glad and sad I came across it. Sad I was not able to connect with her before she passed. Had not run into her for a few years but thought of her often and wondered how she was doing. Glad to be able to share with you what a lasting impression she made on my life. My first job out of college I worked with her at Plaza Printers in downtown Anderson (many many years ago). She operated the press and I was hired as pre-press/typesetter. Then when she moved on to PIP Printing she called me to let me know they were hiring for my position there and we got to work together again. When she left PIP she gave me a wooden plaque that she kept by her press stating "Lord, help me to remember that nothing is going to happen today that you and I can't handle together. That plaque has had a place at every job I have worked and at home the many years I was a stay-at-home mom. That was the kind of woman she was and someone I have tried to emulate, especially to younger women I have worked with. I know she leaves a huge emptiness but also a huge faithful legacy to fill it!
