Sarah A. Johnson, 87, passed away, Wednesday, June 15, 2022.
Sarah was born January 27, 1935, in Anderson, to the late, Dr. Charles L. & Mary Elizabeth (Mahoney) Armington. She was a graduate of St. Mary High School and Marian University. Sarah was a member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church and taught there in the late 50’s until she moved to Escondido, California in 1964. She continued her teaching career until she moved back to Anderson in the 90’s. She enjoyed spending time with her family, golf, and quilting. She was an active member of St. John’s Victoria Guild and of Edgewood Country Club.
Sarah is survived by her brother, Jeremiah Armington; sister, Mary “Katy” (husband, Patrick) Cunningham; sister-in-law, Mary Armington; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded by her husband, Dennie Johnson; brothers, Charles, John, & Michael Armington; and sister, Anne Decker Donaldson.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 am Saturday at St. Ambrose Catholic Church, with Father Hellmann, officiating. Burial will be at St. Mary Cemetery.
Visitation will be on hour prior to Mass at the church.
Arrangements were entrusted to Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Service & Crematory.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Ambrose Catholic or St. Mary Catholic Church.
