Myrtle “Dean” Fishburn

Myrtle “Dean” Fishburn93 of Indianapolis, peacefully departed this world and entered into the presence of the Lord Saturday, December 4th, 2021. She was born September 15th,1928 in Allen County Kentucky to the late Lee & Ruby (Sloan) Stinson.Dean was raised on the family farm near Scottsville, Kentucky. The second oldest of seven children. She grew up working the farm, and helping care for her younger brothers and sisters. After the family moved to Indianapolis, she met and married Clyde Fishburn and raised three children.Taking care of her family was her first love, but Dean also loved caring for her collection of house plants, which was quite extensive at times. In addition, she loved cooking, gardening, embroidery, and crossword and other word puzzles. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde, daughter, Susie, two brothers, two sisters, and one great grandson.She is survived by her daughter, Lenora Porter, son, Brian (Lori) Fishburn; grandchildren, Sarah (Wayne) Polakoff, Justin (Deborah) Wilkerson, Emily (Chris) Huyck, Elisabeth (Brian) Sarkine, Leigha Fishburn; sisters, Margie Wolfe and Linda (Mike) Scott, and four great grandchildren.Visitation will be on Thursday, December 9th from 4:00pm – 8:00pm at Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Service & Crematory, Greenwood Chapel 481 W. Main Street, Greenwood, Indiana. A celebration of Dean’s life will be 12:00pm Friday, December 10th at the funeral home.
