Oleta Rose Nay, age 95, of Carmel, Indiana passed away Thursday, March 21, 2024, at Zionsville Meadows. Oleta was born in Sheridan, Indiana on May 20, 1928, the daughter of the late Richard and Glenia (Spear) Brandenburg.
After graduating from Sheridan High School with the Class of 1946, Oleta earned a degree from Indiana Business School. On May 3, 1950, she married her life-long partner, Fred (Seb) Nay. They were together for 69 years until his death in 2019.
In 1953, they moved to Zionsville together where they made many friends. They were member of the Zionsville Christian Church where she taught Sunday school for many years. She was also a member of Delta Sigma Kappa.
Early in her career she worked for the Veterans Administration. In later years, she was the Director of Admissions at Hoosier Village.
During retirement they moved to Carmel, Indiana. They became active in the Zionsville Presbyterian Church where she was a deacon.
Oleta is survived by her daughter, Kay (Eric) Burkhammer of Zionsville and her grandson, Brian (Stephanie) Burkhammer of Atlanta, Georgia. Also surviving is her great grandson, Bradley, son of Brian and Stephanie.
Oleta was preceded in death by her husband, Fred (Seb) Nay, her parents Richard and Glenia Brandenburg and her sister, Madonna Schamber.
There will be a visitation on Friday, March 29, 2024, from 3-5 p.m. with a service following at 5:00 p.m. at Simplicity Funeral & Cremation Care, 125 W. Sycamore St., Zionsville, Indiana.
