Patsy Ann Downey

Patsy Ann Downey – 9/5/1931 – 1/27/2022 Patsy Ann Downey passed away peacefully on January 27, 2022. Patsy was born in Columbia, Missouri on September 5, 1931 to Margaret Ann (Dodson) and Vance Henry Smith Sr. She attended high school in Columbia, eventually moving to Indiana in the mid 1950’s. Patsy raised her four children in Indianapolis and was employed during that time by the DA Lubricant Company. Patsy and her husband of 38 years, Richard Downey, relocated to Dade City, Florida in 1980 where they owned and operated Quality Boiler, supplying commercial boiler parts to companies throughout the state of Florida. Patsy was an avid bowler and long-time member of the East Pasco Bowling Association. Patsy and Richard returned to Indianapolis in September, 2018. Patsy was preceded in death by her husband Richard; by her parents; by her brothers Henry, Roy, Dean, and Bobby, by her sister Phyllis; and by her son Bruce. Patsy is survived by her children Michael Shryock (Diane), Vicky Crittenden (Mark) and Patrick Shryock; by step-children Tammy Shepherd, Gary Downey (Pam), William Downey (Laurie), Claude Scott (Connie), Donald Roberts (Cindy), and Michael Jeffrey; and by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren who brought her much joy. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Lawrence United Methodist Church, 5200 N. Shadeland Avenue, Indianapolis, IN 46226 on Saturday, February 26, 2022 at 12:00 pm, with visitation beginning at 11:00 am. The service will be streamed live on Facebook and YouTube, search for Lawrence United Methodist Church, Indianapolis.
