Paula A. Martin, 90, of Anderson, passed away peacefully on December 17, 2023. She was born on March 4, 1933 in Anderson to the late Paul France and Bernice (Miller) Showalter. Paula graduated from Anderson High School in 1951 and then went on to marry the love of her life, Robert “Nick” Martin on October 12, 1952. The two were married for 60 years before his passing in 2013. Paula had a love of piano and organ music. In fact, she had started playing the piano and organ at the age of 12. Later on in life, she began giving lessons for many years out of her home. She loved playing cards, bridge, watching game shows and soap operas, getting together with her high school friends, McDonalds chicken nuggets, and any kind of chocolate. She will forever be remembered as a prayer warrior and was one of the kindest people around. This world will be a much dimmer place without her in it.
Paula will be dearly missed by her children, Nikki Hensley and Robert “Tony” (Janice) Martin; grandchildren, Christopher Hensley, Ryan Dwiggins, Melissa (Daniel) Davis, Marta (Travis) Richard, Megan (Lydia) Hensley-Pacheco, Sean Hensley, Alan Martin, and Aaron Martin; great-grandchildren, Izzy Pacheco, Russell Richard, and Caius Richard; and special cousins, Chuck (Paulette) Miller, Mike (Sue) Miller, David Miller, and Chris (Mike Armstrong) Miller.
She was preceded in death by her mother and step-father, Bernice and Russell Showalter; father, Paul France, and numerous aunts and uncles.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Summit Health and Living for all the care they gave to Paula.
