Phyllis Jean Armstrong, 89 years old of North Salem, IN, passed away Thursday, October 31, 2013. She was born August 22, 1924 in Richmond, IN, daughter of the late Ralph and Leathia (Pegg) Miller. She was a member of the Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Fort Wayne and the Professional Women’s Business Club. She graduated from Ball State University and worked as a Medical Technician. Surviving are sons, Larry Armstrong of Atlanta, GA and Terry Armstrong of North Salem, IN, grandchildren, Todd Armstrong, Ryan Armstrong and Sarah Pope, all of Atlanta, GA, A.J. Armstrong of North Salem, IN, Magan Oblack of Albuquerque, NM, and Chad Armstrong of Reedsburg, WI and sister, Joann Walradth of Muncie, IN. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Armstrong and grandson, Bradley Armstrong. Family and friends may call Sunday, November 3, 2013, 6:00-7:00 p.m. at the Porter Funeral Home, North Salem, Indiana. A service will follow at 7:00 p.m. A visitation will also be held Monday, November 4, 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. at Covington Memorial Cemetery with entombment to follow.
