Randy Keith Reffitt, age 53, died unexpectedly on Sunday, January 21, 2024, following a brief illness.
Born in 1970, Randy was raised in Centerville, Indiana and attended Centerville schools. Following high school, Randy proudly served in the U.S. Army Reserves as Private First Class until his honorable discharge in October of 1995. Most recently, Randy lived in Indianapolis, Indiana after spending many wandering years in Florida. Randy was a certified auto body mechanic and jack of all trades.
Randy is survived by his two children Lyndsey Reffitt and Devon Reffitt and grandchildren (Alexis, Bryden and Axel; and one late-grandchild, Myley). He is survived by his mother, Jeannie Cross (and the late Gary Cross) and father, Dennis Reffitt. He is also survived by his brother Robert Reffitt and sisters Teresa (Cross) van Niekerk (Etienne) and Lisa (Cross) Price (Max), as well as nephews and a young niece. “Uncle Dandy” was fun and always had his camera ready to capture the moment. Randy had a love for life – travel, beaches, nature, and sports. We’ll do our best to keep “Randy’s Garden” going at Mamaw’s. Randy’s sly smile, competitive nature in family games and sense of humor will be cherished. Randy would want us all to remember and celebrate the good times.
The family will hold a celebration of life on February 2, 2024, at 12:00 p.m., with visitation starting at 11:00 a.m. at Simplicity Funeral & Cremation Care, 125 West Sycamore Street, Zionsville, Indiana, 46077. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to The Wheeler Mission in Indianapolis in his name, 205 E. New York St., Indianapolis, IN 46204 or https://wheelermission.org/.
As Mamaw says, “Get some rest, Randy.” We loved you always!
