Richard Allen Shinn, age 74, of Indianapolis, IN, passed away April 13, 2024. He was born on January 9, 1950, in Hinsdale, IL to John R and Clara L Shinn. Richard was preceded in death by both parents, his wife Jacqueline Flora Shinn, and his niece Julie Anne DeNike.
Richard was a 1968 graduate of Haslett High School, Michigan and spent a number of years as a long-haul transfer carrier that toured with many popular music groups and theater productions. He was an avid NASCAR sanctioned owner/driver of Street Stock cars and enjoyed boating, playing horseshoes, and could play a respectable round of golf.
Richard is survived by his children: Jennifer and Ryan Shinn, both of Colorado, and siblings: Jackie (Jim) Bourland, Dennis (Patti Delling) Shinn, Pam Shinn, and Sandy (Ron) Nakasone; as well as many nieces and nephews.
A private Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
