Richard Edwin Tudor was born July 15, 1929 to Lester L. and Madeline Tudor in Frankfort, IN. He graduated from Center Grove High School in 1947 and Franklin College in 1951, and did graduate work in music at Indiana State College.� He taught music in Veedersburg, Covington, Kingman, and Turkey Run. He graduated from Indiana College of Mortuary Science in 1958. He owned and operated funeral homes in Marshall, Rockville, Franklin, and Bargersville, IN. He served as Coroner for eight years in Parke County and eight years in Johnson County.� He belonged to Union Village Masonic Lodge #545, F. & A.M., Murat Shrine in Indianapolis, Franklin Elks Club, Franklin Kiwanis, and the Franklin Chamber of Commerce. He was also a member of the Grace United Methodist Church, where he was the choir director for several years.�� He was one of the founders of the “The Voices” which he directed for many years.� He directed church choirs for over fifty years. During that time, he also directed Johnson County Community Choir, Murat Shrine Chanters, and the Parke County Singers in Rockville. In 1951, he married Rosemary Romine in Covington, IN.� He is survived by his wife, and two children, Tamara Tudor of Carmel, and Tom (Jill) Tudor of Indianapolis; three grandsons, Adam (Kelly) Tudor of Indianapolis, Chad (Angela) Tudor of San Antonio, TX, and Luke (Rebecca) Tudor of Avon, IN; and three great grandchildren, Aslan, Ohanna, and Henry Tudor of Indianapolis.�� Calling will be from 3-8PM, Tuesday, at Simplicity Funeral and Cremation Care (Vandivier-Tudor Chapel), 951 N. Main Street, Franklin.� Rev. David Lee will officiate a funeral service at 10:30 AM, Wednesday, at the funeral home.� He will be laid to rest at Harris Cemetery in Johnson County.
