Robert Earl (Bob) Clark passed into glory on January 30, 2021 at the age of 86. He was born February 2, 1934 to Eugene Clark and Lucy Norris Clark in Wilmington, North Carolina. Bob is survived by his wife of 19 years, Ruth, his son Larry (Fran), 5 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Ann Strong Clark, daughter Gail Tharrington and brothers Russell Clark and Philip Clark.After serving in the Army during the Korean Conflict, Bob graduated from Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science. Returning to North Carolina, he pursued a career in the funeral business in Rocky Mount having ownership in Sentry Vault and Gay-Yost Funeral Home. He was a long-time active member of the local Jaycees and First United Methodist Church where he accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior.After the passing of his wife, Bob changed careers and eventually moved to Indianapolis, Indiana where he met and married Ruth. He was an active member of Southport Presbyterian Church and participated in The Great Banquet, a spiritual renewal retreat. Bob loved following Roy Williams and the NC Tarheels and in retirement built a woodworking shop crafting many beautiful objects for family and friends including crosses donated to missionaries and taken all over the globe.Bob will be greatly missed by those that loved him. Donations may be made in his memory to Exodus Refugee Immigration, Inc. and Wheeler Mission Ministries.Final arrangements have been entrusted to Simplicity Funeral and Cremation Care.
