Robert Harold “Bobby” Leak, Jr, 70 of Avon, IN, passed away Thursday, October 27, 2016. He was born October 13, 1946 in Indianapolis, IN, son of the late Robert Harold Leak, Sr. and Dorothy Alice (Higgins) Leak. Bobby served his country in the US Army during the Vietnam War. He was a member of the Iron Workers Local 22, the American Legion Avon Post 145, National Rifle Association and the NHRA. He enjoyed shooting and hot rodding. He was highlighted in several hot rod magazines including #1 Chevy Engine Builder in Car Craft Magazine. He is survived by his sister, Suzanne (Gregory, Sr.) Thompson of Pittsboro, nephew, Gregory A (Emily Babcock) Thompson, Jr of Brownsburg, niece, Gabrielle (Jason) Strawmyer of North Salem and great nieces and nephews, Trinity, Andrew and Sophia Thompson, and Samantha, Brayden & Alexyss Strawmyer. Family and friends will gather Wednesday, November 2, 2016 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 2:00 p.m. at the Porter Funeral Home, Jamestown, Indiana. with Pastor Susan Shambaugh officiating. He will be laid to rest in the Lizton K of P Cemetery, Lizton, Indiana. Memorial contributions may be made to the Hendricks County Humane Society, 3033 E. Main Street, Danville, IN 46122. I am still in shock. I did not know you had passed until yesterday. I sent you two letters some Aus treats and a Thanksgiving flowers to your home but you were not home. I am sorry you did not get them.

I am going to miss you so. A big should out to your sister Suzy... by condolences to Suz and her family.

You were like your cousin Kirk. I will never forget the first package you sent to me with your notes attached, written on file cards, just like Kirk even your hand writing was eerily like his. You were both creative, inventive, generous and giving. Now riding that big engine in the sky......say hello to Kirk for me.

Bobby's Family - I worked with Bobby for years at Industrial Installers. He was a good man and a great mechanic - like his father. He taught me a lot about the construction business (rolling steel doors, metal siding, machinery/tools) and also how field folks want/deserve to be treated. In addition he was easy going and had a good sense of humor - fun person to be around. I will always value the lessons he taught me and I wish him peace.
