Ruth Anne Brewer

With a profound sadness we announce the passing of Ruth Anne Brewer, 82, on November 15, 2022.  She was at her home in Greenwood, surrounded by her family.  Ruth was born on June 21, 1940, in Scranton, PA to John and Josephine (Havard) Wodarek.  Ruth had worked with her husband James R. Brewer in the family business.  She was a 33-year member of Epsilon Sigma Alpha Sorority, Gamma Phi Chapter.  Rudy’s philanthropic work helped the St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, Camp Riley and Anna’s Celebration of Life.

Ruth is survived by her children: Mary Bennett, Theresa “Teri” Brewer, and James Robert Brewer, II; siblings: Michael Wodarek and Claire Driscoll; grandchildren: Joshua Brewer, Robert Clark, Katie Brewer and Brady Brewer.  She was preceded in death by her parents and husband James R. Brewer.

To all whose lives she touched and who loved her dearly – she will never be forgotten.

2 Corinthians 1:3 Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God.

Ruth will be cremated, and a Celebration of Life is planned for early spring; details will be announced after the holidays. Memorial contributions may be directed to the following charities in Ruth’s memory:  St Jude’s Children Hospital, IndyHumane Society of Indianapolis.
