Ruth Virginia Habig GreenBorn in Indianapolis, Indiana on March 21, 1922 to Frank Joseph and Eva Kessler Habig, Ruth passed away in the morning hours of July 5, 2016 in Indianapolis.Ruth graduated from St. Mary’s College, Notre Dame, Indiana in 1944 and worked for Habig’s Feed Co. until her marriage to Wiley Arlis Green from Baton Rouge, Louisiana on March 2, 1946.� She was the consummate military spouse raising her family in more than 18 different addresses, before Col. Green’s retirement to Zionsville, Indiana.� There she was active in the community, old-timers’ Priscilla Club, St. Alphonsus Liguori Catholic parish, and the Village Garden Club.� Known as an avid gardener, Ruth was still offering horticultural advice into her nineties.� Then at an age when most of us are contemplating retirement, Ruth took up a new career.� In 1984, she qualified for her real estate license, joining the firm’s Millionaire club her first year.� Upon receiving her brokerage license a few years later, she opened her own business – Green Realty, specializing in rural property in Zionsville.� She will be remembered by her family and friends as a devoted mother, an independent woman and the keeper of the family.Ruth is predeceased by her husband, Wiley Arlis Green; brother, Frank Joseph Habig Jr.; sisters – Esther Habig, Virginia Habig Jackson, Eva Mae Habig Bollard; and grandson, Wiley Aaron Green.� She is survived by her children – Wiley Frank (Victoria) Green, Margaret Ellen (P. Sundararaman) Green, Kathryn (John) Rufatto, Thomas Arlis (Susan) Green and John Andrew Green; grandchildren – Catherine Rufatto Sears, Adela Green Creasy, Elizabeth Rufatto Ferrand, Jennifer Anne Green, Asha Christine Sundararaman, Sarah Elizabeth Green, Karen Green Thostesen,� Matthew Evan Green, Alan Frank Green,� Sesh Alexander Sundararaman and Amanda Marie Green and 7 great grandchildren.A calling will be held from 1:30 p.m. followed by a Funeral mass at 3 p.m. on Friday, July 8, 2016 at St. Alphonsus Liguori Catholic Church, 1870 W.
