Sandra “Sandy” Pock
On June 15th, Sandy Pock was reunited with her dearly departed children, Sam R. Pock and Rebecca Hosier Pierle. Sandra K. Spoor Pock, born 9/6/42, was the daughter of Elizabeth and Richard “Doc” Spoor, who along with her brothers, Jake and Tim, predecease her. She married Eugene Pock, Jr., who survives, on June 13, 1969 in Zionsville, Indiana.
At times in her life she was a cheerleader, church choir singer, print shop worker, bartender, concession stand manager, Hallmark employee, prolific collector and Christmas lover. Gram, as she was known to her grandkids, was full of colorful phrases-and if you ever wronged her children, we can assure you she has not forgotten, nor has she forgiven you.
She loved CNN, making her daily trip to the post office and Walmart, reading books about The Gilded Age, driving to California by herself, and her beloved McDonald’s Diet Coke. Candy making and precision gift wrapping were two of her talents.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by daughter Lori Voorhis, son Scott Hosier (Luz), daughter Jeanann Pock Dodson (Mike), and daughter Georgianna Kaser (Jeff), 14 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.
Sandy had an aversion to funeral flowers. May we make a suggestion? Instead, help a young mother in need, donate to a food bank, call your local school and pay off a child’s lunch account, plant a tree or a perennial, or some other similar act of kindness and remembrance.
Per her wishes, there will be no services. Thank you for your condolences and your prayers, and thank you, Karl, her kind and compassionate ICU Nurse.
