Sheila A. Elliott

February 9, 1961 - April 10, 2010

Sheila A. Rawlings Elliott 49, of Lizton passed and leapt into the arms of our Lord on April 10, 2010. At long last the pain is gone. Sheila, born February 9, 1961, was the much loved and adored youngest daughter of Warren and Mildred Rawlings of Danville and they survive her. She was a graduate of Tri-West High School and a life-long resident of Lizton. Survivors besides her parents are brothers, Doug (Kim) Rawlings of Lizton, Dan (Cheryl) Rawlings of Mulberry, Brad Rawlings of Lizton and sister, Linda Kirby of Plainfield. Also surviving are her two sons, Patrick and Nathan of Pittsboro and special friend Charlie Barrett. Several aunts, uncles, nieces & a nephew survive her as well. Sheila loved to be among her family and friends and her ever-growing collection of giraffes. She loved to travel. She attended Old Union Church. Friends will be received Monday, April 12, 11:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m. at the Porter Funeral Home, Jamestown, Indiana. Services will follow at 3:00 p.m. with Pastor Tim Andreanopoulos officiating. Interment will follow in the Lizton K of P Cemetery, Lizton, Indiana. Contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 5635 W. 96th Street, Suite 100, Indianapolis, IN 46278. The family would like to send a special thank you to the wonderful nurses of Advocate Hospice, Todd and Patti Thompson, Debbie Caldwell, and other friends too numerous to name, for their friendship and kindness to Sheila during her illness. I remember taking Kenny to school and then going to Sheila's house to share coffee and donuts with her before I went to work. We would talk about funny things our kids were up to and things they were worrying us over as well. She shared concerns over passing while Patrick and Nathan were still so young. Sheila treasured every moment she had on this earth and longed to live until Nathan was graduated at least. That didn't quite work for her, but she gave it an amazing try and did come close. Sheila was a caring woman and I will always remember her. I am glad I had the chance to become friends with her. I will never forget the last time I saw her, a couple weeks prior to her passing,she was so tired. I left that morning knowing her time was close. Losing her at such a young age is very sad. Miss Sheila, you will live on in my heart and my memory, love you much!
