Stephen H. King, 74, of Greenwood, IN passed away at home on Saturday, October 7, 2023.
Stephen was born on April 8, 1949, in Tulsa, OK, a son of the late Stanley King and Leota (Redington) Patterson. He married the love of his life, Patricia Henry, on June 12, 1971, she survives. He graduated from Purdue University in 1971 with a bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Engineering. He used that degree working for Horner Electric (Indiana Fan) and retired after 35 years of service.
He enjoyed model airplanes, skiing, sailing, gardening, barbershop chorus and antique cars. Above all, he was a life-long Boilermaker. He and Pat traveled the country in their classic cars and even followed the Purdue Basketball team to Alaska for the Great Alaska Shootout and followed the Purdue Football team to the Rose Bowl.
Survivors include his wife of 52 years; Pat King; sisters: Cheryl Glaub and Anita (Jack) Brinson; niece, Sarah (Shannon) Hillard; nephew, Patrick (Megan) Rowland, and their children: Isaac, Charlotte and Finn Rowland. He is also survived by good friends: the LaFavers family of Greenwood, Indiana and Waldorf family of Clinton, Iowa.
Family and friends will gather for a celebration of Stephen’s life on Saturday, October 21, 2023, from 11am until 2pm at the Southport Masonic Lodge, 5678 South East Street Indianapolis, Indiana 46227.
