Steven “JR” Luyk, age 48, passed away into the arms of Jesus at 3:00pm Sunday, February 25^th, 2024. He was born in Jacksonville, North Carolina on January 11, 1976. JR was a longtime member of CUMC and a die-hard University of Michigan fan. JR is survived by his loving parents Steve and Jackie Luyk; brothers Bradley J. and Travis J.; sons Kaileb, and Garhett Luyk; Mary Gamm, grandmother and Richard Smith; and many more aunts, uncles, and cousins. Visitation will be held on Friday, March 1^st from 4:00-8:00pm at Singleton and St. Pierre Funeral Service and Crematory. The funeral service will take place on Saturday, March 2^nd at 11:00 am with a brief visitation from 10:00-11:00 am until the time of service.

I was so sorry to learn of J R’s sudden passing. I always enjoyed knowing him. I know he faced many challenges in this life, but his faith in Christ gave him hope. He will be missed at Christ Church so much! May the Lord comfort his family.
