My thoughts are with all of you, his family. Steve always had the greatest disposition, easy going and friendly with a great smile. I know you will miss that.

I was saddened to learn about Steve's passing. Within the last 2 years, we visited on his porch for a while as he was eating his lunch of a peanut butter sandwich. We were catching up with each other's families and sharing a few memories as classmates. He said he has had a happy life. It was a visit that I will always remember. Prayers for Kelly and all of Steve's family.
Pete Jefferson left a message on January 31, 2022:
Steve was one of my oldest best friends. I remember listening to Abbey Road for the first time in his little house. We learned guitar together, and kissed girls together, and cruised the golf course late at night together. I got to meet and play with his band in the last few years as I passed thru Z'ville. Steve was a very well read man, a creative builder and splendid musician, a kind, polite, happy man and his love for Kelly and his nieces and nephews and his four legged family was wonderful to watch. I will continue to think of my old friend often. Golden Slumbers, Needy

I am deeply saddened to hear of Steve's passing. Steve was a classmate and one of my very first friends when my family moved to Zionsville in 1966. I will always remember how Steve and I quickly became friends and the times we walked from the old school to the Neese family home on Linden Street for lunch. I ran into Steve a few months ago and we had a great conversation. I didn't know it would be our last. Steve was such a great guy and will be missed by many. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the entire Neese family. RIP Needy!
