Susan A. (Adkins) Engle, 66, of Greenwood, IN, passed away on Monday, February 2, 2015, at St. Francis Hospital in Indianapolis. She was born May 18, 1948, the tenth child of Charles and Alma (Orman) Adkins, in Manistique, MI.A resident of Greenwood Meadows, where she made many friends, Susan enjoyed reading, listening to music, playing cards and games, and especially liked watching western movies and television shows. She deeply appreciated nature�birds and animals, trees and flowers, rocks, snow and mountains�and was particularly fond of the Upper Peninsula of Michigan and the southwestern United States.Before moving to Greenwood in 2004, she was a long-time resident of Warsaw, IN, where she retired from Kimble Glass/Owens Illinois. She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Lowell Engle of Greenwood, her two daughters Laura Dodson of Indianapolis and Amy Parks (Christopher) of Rocky Face, GA, grandchildren Jarrett Dodson of Indianapolis, Kirbi Baldridge (Keith) and McKenna Parks, and great-grandsons Cash and Briar in Georgia. She is also survived by a sister, Nina Stapley of Arizona and brother, Guy Adkins of Michigan, numerous nieces and nephews, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters and five brothers.Visitation will be on Friday, February 6, 2015 at Simplicity Funeral and Cremation Care, 7520 Madison Avenue, Indianapolis, from 2-4pm and 6-8pm, followed by a dignified cremation. A memorial service in northern Indiana is planned later in the spring.In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Franciscan St. Francis Healthcare Foundation or to your favorite charity. Canned food donations to your local food bank will also honor her memory.
