Thomas Martin Finchum, 85, Indianapolis, IN passed away on June 10, 2022. Tom was born to Chalmus James and Thelma Caviness Finchum. Tom was married to the late Deloris Finchum. He also was preceded in death by his parents and first wife, Barbara Finchum. Tom was employed for many years at Indianapolis Water Company (Citizens Energy) and retired as supervisor of the fleet of company vehicles. Tom was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in New Palestine, IN.
Tom is survived by his son Thomas (Audrey) Finchum of Indianapolis; daughter Diane Gilvin of Indianapolis; stepson Dwayne (Stacey) Lang of Greenwood; stepdaughter Tracey Jones of Indianapolis; eight grandchildren: Chad (Minissa) Gilvin, Stephanie (Justin) Longerich, Luke (Darcy) Finchum, Lindsay (Greg) Ruth, Thomas (Alex) Finchum, Kyle (Lacey) Lang, Tiffani Lang, Alyvia Lang and thirteen great grandchildren: Makayla, Tyler, Camden Gilvin, Baylee and Easton Longerich, Noah and Portia Finchum, Vincent (Vinny), Luca, Ari, and Francesca (Frankie) Ruth, Jagger Finchum, and Hannah Lang. He is also survived by his brothers James (Joan) and Edward (Jenny) Finchum.
Tom spent many years coaching at Garfield Youth Little League. He enjoyed spending time with family and watching his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren in their sporting events and activities. He loved his family and was so very proud of them. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was an expert angler and passed the love of fishing down to his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He was a member of several fishing clubs and participated in many tournaments over the years.
Services will be held at 12:00 noon on Thursday, June 16th at Singleton & St. Pierre Funeral Home, 7602 Madison Avenue, Indianapolis, IN. Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM to 12:00 noon on Thursday as well. Memorial contributions may be given to Zion Lutheran School Scholarship Fund (6513 W. 300 S, New Palestine, IN 46163) or Lutheran High School Athletic Department (5555 S.
