Timothy Allen Jacobs, 60, of Indianapolis, passed away on September 18th, 2022. Timothy was born to Thomas Lee & Barbara Louise Jacobs on April 1st, 1962, in Indianapolis.  He grew up in Franklin Township and attended Franklin Central High School, where he excelled in basketball and football, earning MVP honors in both sports his senior year of high school.  He led those teams to Sectional victories.

Tim, also affectionately known as “Jake” by his friends, graduated from Indiana University with a degree in Marketing in 1986.  He felt God was calling to him to change course, so in 2011 he went back to school and earned his master’s degree in Addictions Counseling from Capella University in December 2013. He utilized his skills in various settings throughout the last years of his life:  LaVerna Lodge of Fairbanks Hospital, Partners in Housing, Shepherd Community Center, and Volunteers of America.  His heart was firmly set in helping people overcome their addictions and he had a special passion for military veterans.

Timothy was preceded in death by his Grandparents and his father.

Timothy is survived by his wife, Tami Jacobs, Mother, Brother; Paul (Tracy) Jacobs, Nieces & Nephews; Tommy Jacobs, Jill Jacobs, Sarah Jacobs, Luna Jacobs, Mila Jacobs, David Oden, Blue Kinsell, and Haze Kinsell.

A visitation will take place on Sunday September 25, 2022, at Wilson St. Pierre, 5950 Thompson Road, Indianapolis, IN 46237, from 12pm to 2 pm. A celebration of life will immediately follow the visitation.

I worked with Tim at SKH Paper Company until each of us restarted our careers with something more meaningful. I was so amazed at how he not only turned his life around but also his drive and commitment to help others at a crossroad with their own addictions. My first husband, the father of our child, died in denial of alcoholism. So Tami what must be said is that I know personally that your husband walked through spaces few people would go to become a hug, a hand and an ear to those struggling for hope and healing. Tim was simply amazeballs and I was honored to be called a friend.
