VaRae Blount

VaRae Blount, 76, of Alexandria, passed away on November 29, 2023 surrounded by her loving family. VaRae was born on September 15, 1947 in Lebanon, IN to the late Grayson and Avaleen (Owen) Thistlethwaite. She married her loving husband, Robert “Bob” Blount and the two were married for 49 years before her passing. VaRae was an accomplished hairdresser/beautician and has been practicing for 53 years. She loved Christmas and decorating for it and was an active participant in the Paramount’s Festival of Trees. VaRae loved soaking up the sun, whether it was at her pool or at the beach. She had a hippie soul, through and through. Most importantly, she loved her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

VaRae will be dearly missed by her husband, Bob; children, Myken (Kelly) Moore and Eric (Stephanie) Blount; grandchildren, Braxton “Braxy” (Ashley) Moore, Roman Blount, and Eva Blount; great-grandchildren, Cameron and Griffin Moore; and sister, Karen (Morris) Buzan.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Mark Thistlethwaite.

The visitation will be from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM, Wednesday, December 6, 2023, at Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Service & Crematory, 515 E. 53^rd St., Anderson, IN 46013. The memorial service will begin at 2:00 PM at the funeral home. Services have been entrusted to Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Service & Crematory.
