Wilbur “Corky” Hord, age 80, of Greenwood, passed away peacefully on November 28, 2022, with his family by his side. He was born on March 15, 1942, in Marion, Ohio, to Melvin and Kathryn Hord and was raised in Mecca, In. Corky served his country in the United States Army before marrying the love of his life Mary Beth on January 30, 1971. Corky worked for the Ford Motor Company as a Floor Inspector, retiring after 37 years. He enjoyed playing golf, a good game of poker, hunting for mushrooms and sharing stories with family and friends.
He is survived by his children: Mark (Elizabeth) Fellows, Sr., Thom (Amy) Hord, Gianna (Edward) Lynn, Wendy (Brad) Ehle, and Apryl (Steve) Sites; sister: Judy (Ronnie) Thomas; as well as fifteen grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren, and many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Corky was preceded in death by his wife: Mary Beth Hord; son: Mike Hord; sister: Dorothy “Dee” Stevens; and granddaughter: Lyndsey Hord.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, December 3, 2022, from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at 1:00 p.m. at Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Services & Crematory, 481 W. Main St., Greenwood with Pastor Thom Hord officiating.
